Hyundai Performance Institute (HPI) is Hyundai Motor America’s learning and support function for dealership Sales personnel. It is comprised of a mobile learning application and a companion website containing resources and reporting.

Access to the web page is by invitation only. Please contact your manager or send an email to support@hyundaiperformanceinstitute.com providing your name, Hyundai department or dealership information, email, phone number and reason for requiring site access. Once approved, you will receive a personalized email providing a registration link and instructions.

Access to the HPI Sales Learning App is by invitation only. Dealership Sales personnel participating in the STAR program are automatically enrolled. If you are not part of this group and believe you should have or want access, please contact your manager or send an email to support@hyundaiperformanceinstitute.com providing your name, Hyundai department or dealership information, email, phone number and reason for requiring site access. Once approved, you will receive a personalized email providing a registration link and instructions.

Once a person is entered into the Personnel Enrollment System through the Hyundai Dealer Portal (or their job code is updated to a relevant role), it typically takes one to two business days for their information to transmit and for their welcome email to be sent. The email is sent to their email address on file in the Personnel Enrollment System and contains information and links for registering and accessing both the website and app. Emails are personalized and are not to be shared. Please be sure that the email address is known to and accessible by the New Hire.

For dealership personnel, the ID begins with either HMA or DLR. For Hyundai Motor America personnel, the ID begins with 101. If you need additional help, please email or call Support.

The link is active for seven (7) days. If it has been longer than seven days, please email or call Support to get a new link.

No, “30-for-30” is not tied to certification. It is an optional gamified experience where you can showcase your skills, grow in your proficiency, and contribute to your team's ranking on the leaderboard.

“30-for-30” is a gamified experience to refresh your knowledge in a fun way on various topics covered in the year. The event is happening from November 4 to November 29, 2024.

During this time players will be presented with up to 30 questions per week covering the following topics (available in 3 levels):
(1) Week 1 - Hyundai Essentials - Brand, Product, Technology
(2) Week 2 - Hyundai Electrified - IONIQ 5 & EV Landscape
(3) Week 3 – The Hyundai Difference

After these 3 weeks, the full game will remain available for a 4th and final week where everyone is invited to catch up and increase their scores for previous weeks.

Time Trial Trivia is a quiz game. “30-for-30” is being hosted using Time Trial Trivia in the Newsfeed. For this game, each session has a timer of 60 seconds. For each correct answer, you get a few seconds boost in your timer. For each incorrect answer, you lose time. The faster you answer a question correctly, the more points you will get at the end of the game.

Hyundai Sales Managers and Sales Consultants who utilize the Hyundai Performance Institute App.

“30-for-30” is available in the Newsfeed. Tap the “Play Now!” button to start gameplay. This will launch the game. To succeed in the game, and rank higher on the leaderboard, answer each question correctly and as quickly as possible to get a high score. Replay each level to increase your leaderboard ranking.

The leaderboard shows participants' names and corresponding scores for each week. By participating in this event, participants understand and agree that their names (being first name and last initial) and rank in the event will be shown on an in-app newsfeed leaderboard that can be viewed by all participants.

To rank higher in the leaderboard, you will want to get the highest score possible in Time Trial Trivia. To do this, answer questions correctly, and as quickly as possible. A new level will be unlocked every week (weeks 1-3). You can go back to any previous level to increase your score at any time during the event.

The dealership, district, and regional rank are calculated through the ranking of the individuals that play the game – the more people playing and getting a high score, the better you will rank!

Virtual medals are achieved based on the percentage of correct answers per level:
Platinum: 100% correct answers
Gold: 90% or more correct answers
Silver: 80% or more correct answers
Bronze: 70% or more correct answers
No virtual medals: below 70% correct answers

To get higher virtual medals, you will want to get the most correct answers possible. To get platinum you will need to answer all questions correctly in a single game session.

No. Virtual medals are being used within “30-for-30” only. Virtual medals will not be available outside of this game.

You can replay a previous week/level as many times as you’d like. If you earn a higher score, your score/rank will be updated. If you get a lower score, your score/rank on the leaderboard won’t change.

No, “30-for-30” will not be available past November.

You are able to replay the game as many times as you want during the contest period.

The questions you receive in the game come from a bank of questions. This enables you to showcase your knowledge across a range of topics.

You can brush up on your skills prior to playing the game. The topics covered by the game are the following:

You can refer to your previous training cards, the HPI Library, and hyundaiusa.com as source materials to sharpen up your skills. You are also able to replay the game as many times as you want during the contest period.

You will be able to replay each level as many times as you want for the month of November. A leaderboard snapshot will be taken every week at 11:59 PM Pacific Time on Sundays, and will be shared every Monday.

The Hyundai Performance Institute website provides authorized users with access to a wide variety of reference materials covering the Hyundai brand, vehicles, technology, and retail experience. In addition, for those users who participate in or manage STAR certification, the site provides access to a personal dashboard and roll-up dashboards and reports for Sales Managers, Dealerships, Dealer Groups, Sales Districts and Regions.

The Reporting function is made available to select roles. If your role is authorized, you will see the “Reporting” option in the left-side navigation menu or on the Home page. Dealership Sales Managers (SM) have access to see reports for all Sales Consultants in their dealership; General Managers (GM) and Dealer Principals (DP) have access to see reports for all dealership Sales personnel participating in STAR Certification. If you believe you should have access and do not, please email or call Support.

Dashboard access is based on role. All app users are provided a member dashboard detailing personal app activity and status. Roll-up dashboards are provided to Sales Managers and above summarizing the activity and status of those teams, dealerships, etc. within their purview. If you are an app user and/or your role is authorized, you will see the “Dashboard” option in the left-side navigation menu or on the Home page. If you believe you should have access and do not, please email or call Support.

Please use your mobile phone number and the work email address that you regularly monitor so that are sure to receive Hyundai communications related to Sales Learning and the STAR program.

Once you are in the app, you will be greeted with a welcome video and a brief, guided tutorial on how to use the platform, including selecting a social style and avatar. After that, you can explore and discover at your leisure!

The HPI App can be used on a dedicated Android tablet or Apple iPad (i.e., used by only one person), or a shared Apple iPad (e.g., one that is owned by the dealership). Once you have registered your phone number and set your password, please send an email to support@hyundaiperrformanceinstitute.com to request tablet access. Please provide your HMA/DLR ID, dealer code or dealership name, your full name, your email address, and specify whether you want to use a dedicated Android tablet or Apple iPad, or a shared device provided by the dealership.

Yes, the HPI App can be used on a dedicated Android tablet or Apple iPad (i.e., used by only one person), or a shared Apple iPad (e.g., one that is owned by the dealership). At this time, the HPI app can only be used on one device, and you cannot freely switch between devices. To install the app on a tablet, you must be able to access your email account on the tablet. In the case of a shared iPad, the owner/administrator of the tablet must be available to install the app.

No, the HPI App is not web compatible. HMA has opted to use app-based technology for learning to allow the content to be personalized and customized in the future to individual learner needs.

For now, only Sales Consultant (SP) and Sales Manager (SM) have access to the app as those roles are the ones required to complete STAR Certification activities. However, there are plans to expand access to additional dealership roles soon. At the HMA Region level, SMM, RSM and RSOM roles have app access.

The HPI App is supported by real humans called Community Managers. They all have automotive retail experience and available to help you make the most of your app experience.

Complete all your learning activities on-time each month.

At the start of each month a group (hand) of cards is loaded into the HPI App. Each card contains multiple activities including a knowledge check. The activities typically take 3-5 minutes to complete. You need a score of 80% to pass the knowledge check. You must complete all the activities in each card and all cards in the hand to be STAR Certified for the month.

The STAR Certification period begins on the first day of each sales month and ends at 11:59 PM Pacific time on the sales close date.

Upon hire, New Hires are assigned a New Hire hand plus the ongoing certification hand for their hire month. New Hires have the remainder of their hire month plus the next month to complete both the New Hire and hire month’s hand. At the start of their second month, new hires are assigned the hand for that month which also must be completed by the end of that month. At the start of their third month, new hires fall into the ongoing cadence of monthly certification.

At the bottom of the Home screen under What’s Next, you will find all the hands you have been assigned. There is typically a hand (deck of cards) for each calendar month. Once a hand is started, the cards will display in the card carousel. Finished cards can be found under View all next to the carousel.

You can check in-app by clicking on the “STAR Certification Status” link at the bottom of the Dashboard or you can log into the website and check your personal dashboard. In the app you will simply see a percentage completion status for the current month and the last two months. On the website dashboard you will see all activity details.

While you can complete the activities, you are not considered STAR Certified for that month and it may have an impact on your STAR Rewards status.

Each month is evaluated individually. Each month you do not complete your activities on time, you are not considered STAR Certified for that month and this may impact your STAR Rewards status.

In the Vehicles section, each model year / model combination dating back four model years is a self-contained module of information and supporting documents. This allows you to easily access everything associated with a single year and model in one place. The Library Products & Technology section contains more recent individual assets relative to select models and cross-platform technologies for quick searching, favoriting, and pinning.

Yes, both contain the same content and anything that you favorite or pin in one carries over to the other.
